Budget 2027
On 26 October 2026, the Minister for Finance, Hon. Clyde Caruana, delivered the Budget Speech for 2027, setting out the Government’s plans for the year ahead. The Budget keeps electricity, gas and fuel prices stable, continues support for families and pensioners, and begins a shift towards an economy that grows through higher value rather than more workers and more tourists.
Key measures include a new 25% tax rate for small companies on profits they keep or reinvest, the second step of the income tax cut for parents, a €10 a week pension increase and the €1,000 Super Bonus. The Budget also introduces higher eco-contributions for tourists, higher work permit fees for non-EU workers, and new VAT measures, including a reverse charge in the construction sector.
